You'd think it wouldn't have to always be a fight!

kayla always picks the stupidest hills to "die on"...

We made June 1st "lock up the boy clothes day..." and you would think I was the meanest person on the face of the planet...we went to gather up the boy clothes (Fiona gets to keep hers...yes, dave clothes still allowed...with ONE caveat -- we have to know when and why he needs his boy clothes and 2. he is writing his boy name on all the tags so kayla can't "pretend she thinks it's hers"...

but...since she looks so great in women's clothes

anyhow...here she is...pouting as usual...

the only way she gets her clothes out of storage is like parent visit or doctor appt...otherwise...all kayla clothes until then...

  1. A small box and a little bag, not much to put in storage, and they are probably lousy clothes at that. As opposed to all the cool stuff she has. And the extra income to get even more and be a fashion queen, have lots of friends, and expanding opportunities. Seems an easy choice (not that she really has one)

    1. you know, "kevin" doesn't have many boy clothes left, honestly. There are times they are ' needed" like his parents showing up, but otherwise?? Oh, she will get so many new outfits and accessories with this new position! lol it's certainly in our favor, not hers.

  2. I wouldn't let her off automatically for a doctor appointment. With doctor-patient confidentiality they aren't going to out her, and doctors and nurses have seen all sorts of LGBTQIA+ and others with non-cis gender expression. She may be asked her pronoun preferences. They'll know, they aren't going to set her up for a pap smear.
After all, when you've had her get bikini tan lines and sun-tattoos they were going to notice, anyway. So maybe you have some women's jeans or shorts she can wear instead of a skirt or dress, but think about whether she really needs boy clothes for the doctor or dentist. It will be so much fun to have her tell us about her first time, how she felt going.

    1. Possibly, and I hear you; however there is a large LGBTQIA+ community here at DuPont, we certainly don't want to step on any Trans toes. Kevin is kayla...however he is not, nor will he be in actual transition (hormones, counseling, body modification etc all of the long and challenging journey Trans requires) to kayla. There are some things that could step on Trans toes and that, we don't want to do...so when it comes to things like medical records and care, we make it clear kevin is still kevin (ie bend over and cough vs stirrups) but that said, he'll likely wear something girly or feminine to both. I mean in more of the case of an annual physical etc. And certainly for when his parents come to visit.

    2. Parents coming is certainly time for Kevin, not Kayla. I understand wanting to be mindful of the feelings of others - he isn't mocking or satirizing other gender expressions.
